Nursery and Pre-school
St. Peter & Paul’s is experiencing a baby boom! Over the last number of years many young families have joined our church, and many who were already here have been blessed with babies. We are happy to provide a well staffed nursery for children under three.
Junior Church (Grades K-6)
We are passionate about seeing children enter into a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ, and to see them grow into mature, passionate, and well-equipped disciples. We offer a Sunday morning program during our 10:30am service which explores Bible stories through teaching, crafts, and games. All are welcome. Other exciting events for kids are planned regularly. We hope that if you have children, grandchildren, or know others who do, that you will invite them to experience how passionate we are about children and youth here at St. Peter & St. Paul’s.
Youth (Grades 7-12)
We recongnize how critical the teen years are for faith development, and we are excited to welcome our own teens and their friends into our various ministries. On Sunday mornings we offer a youth program during our 10:30am service time that includes topical discussions on matters of faith and life. Check our youth calendar for upcoming topics, as well as other weekday and special events that we regularly hold. Our clergy and volunteers are available to chat with parents and teens at any time. Contact Pastor Paul with any questions or requests.
Adult Bible Study
An adult Bible study group meets on Friday mornings in the church. The group focuses on one topic or book for several sessions running, but anyone is welcome to drop in at any time.
House Groups
At St. Peter & St. Paul’s we are enthusiastic about discipleship and also about fellowship. One of the key ways we grow as disciples and as a community is through the house group ministry. Our groups are scattered across the city and meet in parishioner’s homes in groups of up to 12 people of varied ages. Each group spends time in sharing together, reflecting on Scripture and praying for each other and the broader concerns of the community and the Kingdom of God.
Alpha
Alpha is a practical 10-week introductory course to the Christian faith, suitable for spiritually searching people, new Christians, and seasoned Christians who want to get back to the basics. It was designed and launched at Holy Trinity Brompton, an Anglican Church in England, home of the Alpha program.
CHAOS
CHAOS is an acronym for Children Have Affected Our Sleep/Sanity/Spirituality. It grew out of the need of the many young families in St. Peter & Paul’s for family-oriented fellowship opportunities. It is an opportunity for parents of young children (ten and under) and their families to help enrich, grow and deepen their faith and fellowship in a loving, God-inspired and supportive environment. Meetings occur at least once a month for mothers and for fathers to study the Bible together and pray. Once a month there is also a social potluck supper with our kids to build fellowship and friendships. All St. Peter & Paul’s families are invited to join in these monthly potluck suppers. Contact Belinda Riscalas or Brian Dijkema through the parish office for more information.
Men’s Breakfast
All men of the parish are invited to meet on the second Saturday of the month for breakfast and fellowship. The program may feature a speaker or an activity that includes children. i.e. a skating party on the canal in winter and construction of bird houses in the Spring.
Women’s Breakfast
All women of the parish are invited to meet on the last Saturday of the month for breakfast and fellowship followed by a speaker and discussion. In June an outing in the country completes the Spring term.
